Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

you will need to get good at driving and have good conditions along with shave a second off your car.

Gears/Tlok .3
CAI .1
Exhaust .1
UDP .1
Tune .1

thats most with bolt ons~ you can port/polish the intakes and gain a bit more and those numbers are just speculation~ the mods work better together and all of that crap.... you should be able to shave .6 to .7 off your car with all the bolt ons, my old v6 should have been around a 14.714.9 and I had all that was listed all listed above as well as an aluminum driveshaft (no tune though)

No way in hell. Sorry, but unless you juice it, add a supercharger, turbocharger, or do some drastic engine work...14's are outa reach.

Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

what about with cams? does anyone think of that as a bolt on? he might as well if he would get:
p/p intake and exhaust
cams
and the rest of the list that spectorv listed, what would he be able to run. tackier tires would help with his 60'.

What would he run?

im doing that with my car, but Im also going to be getting a 11 psi procharger turbo kit, what would I be running and him. I was looking into low-high 13s

Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

Ported heads & intakes & the right cam would put you in the 13's easy.

Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

Dont dare expect to slap on a few bolt ons and go run mid 14s, it takes time to get good and learn the car in order to push it to its limits. Stock you will probably see 16s~ on average just the way it goes.

Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

I have run high 14's in my auto with the important bolt ons & a tune.

So a 5 spd is capable of it also. Yes I agree there are factors.
Driver skill, track prep, weather conditions.

Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

but yes I would also agree to the factors that everyone is listing. Im sure everyone know these also, but I know that it wont be true that throwing all these parts on and im going to run this thing into what i want, got to break the parts in and practice practice practice...thats what even the most skilled drive or a stock mustang needs to do when putting on parts

Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

sunpros are not the best brand in the world.... they are probably less acurate than the stock tach FYI. Buy an autometer or dont buy one at all

i got it from a friend for 10 bucks, so just wondering

anywayz, off the tach, what kind of cam would give a stock mustang the best all around performance through the entire rpm range

Cam would depend on several things.
Your plans for the car & what else besides a cam you are going to do.

Basically you need to build a complete package.

Re: Stock 1/4 mile Time

I dont know if anyone else remember me posting about me talking doing the stage 2+ from super six motor sports, well im probably going to do it this winter. It will be N/A, all motor. but Im not sure. Im also looking at turbocharging the beast also. I might go stage 3, but dont know if i can run with a stage 3 with out the turbo.....if someone could look into it, I will too, if this would be better to do, or would the stage 2+ also work with a turbo....
