brakes squeal

I had my brakes changed by a ford dealer around 3 weeks ago.. my car has 25kmiles and yet after having the brakes changed they still squeal really badly. Could the problem be the rotors/? If so how much does re-surfacing of rotors normally cost?

Re: brakes squeal

Rotor brakes squeal...it's part of it. You can try using some anti-squeal compound to see if that will fix it. The only way I'd have my rotors turned is if you have pits or stuff in them that you can see/feel easily.

Re: brakes squeal

they all squeel, the key is knowing a good one from a bad one. It may be metal on metal thats not brake pad/rotor related... i would get them to check it again just to make sure, and you be there next to them while they do incase they half *** it.

Re: brakes squeal

All brake jobs should include rotor resurfacing. If you just replace the pads, the pads will wear unevenly and more than likely they will squeel.

If it's just a little squeek at the very end of the stop, then you got cheap pads. Cheap pads always seem to squeak.
