another engine swap question

Hey guys, Alright i Know everyone on this forum is completely against swapping a v6-v8 "just buy a v8", but my v6 stang holds a certain sentimental value. So money and difficulty aside, if i were to purchase an 03-04 cobra engine, would it even be able to fit under my hood? Supercharger and all, would there even be enough room for it? I just dont know if the engine compartments on gt's and cobras were made any bigger at all? thanks for your help!

Re: another engine swap question

I have no problem with someone wanting to swap engines...as long as they know what they're getting into. I've actually done alot of research...just be sure to either pick up a ecu with that new engine, or get ready to have someone do a custom tune for you before even trying to turn the key..if the pats will let you. There's alot of bugs to work out in the swap...but it's worth it if that's what you wanna do.

Re: another engine swap question

Thanks guys. Another question, would i need to beef up the suspension to include the IRS or would just a gt rear end be just fine?

Re: another engine swap question

A GT rear end would actually be preferrable, depending on who you ask and what you want to do with it. The IRS is great for stability when cornering on rough surfaces and ride quality, but the solid axle from the GT's is far superior for launching in a straight line and can be made to handle as well.
