Re: blown v6 need help

it should be a straight drop! the only difference is the cylinder heads the engines are the same! i would go with the 99-04 v6 do to the performance difference! theres 30-40+ HP do to the split port heads, you will feel a major difference in performance and gas mileage should be the same, you will be much happier with the 99-04 v6....trust me! good luck im about to swap out my 3.9 for another 3.9 so if u need any help or wanna share some info let me know bro! take care and God bless....ohhh and WELCOME

Re: blown v6 need help

the great thing with the v6 mustangs are the engines are cheap, very cheap. You can replace the engine or rebuild it for little money its just a matter of determining if you want a junk yard motor with lower miles that runs to just drop in and try or rebuild your current engine. The issue with a rebuild is labor to put it back together and the hopes that they put it together right.

everyone makes mistakes lol, i rather buy a used motor with low miles and check everything out and only buy with a 90 day warrranty but make sure u install it the first week!

Re: blown v6 need help

Find a used 97-98 engine & it will be a direct swap. If you go with the 99-04 engine you will have to do some mods to make it work, but it can be done.

Correct, the 99+ mustangs used a returnless fuel rail, to use a 99+ motor you need to modify your exsisting fuel rail.
