Has anyone changed bumper covers on a 2005-2006 model?

How hard is it to do and what holds it on there?

It should be fairly straight forward...

I was thinking about it just now, I should be able to look at the GT bumper when it comes, and see where the fastening points will be.

A few screws and lots of those plastic push things that snap when you try to remove them.

They are like bolts to me it looked like, he did have to take the wiring harness and bolts from the top of the old cover and put them on the new one, that thing was riveted on there with steel rivots, made it hard to get off, he put it back on with the push in plastic ones.

If I'm not mistening there is about 6 bolts and a few push pins not enought to really cause a hassle its a 30 min job if you dont want to scrach anything!

Re: Has anyone changed bumper covers on a 2005-2006 model?

As a matter of fact, I just purchased and recieved one of the new Cobra R front ends from Racers Dreams. It appears there are 3 small screws in each fender well at the bottom, 2 small bolts at the top of the fender where it attaches to the bumper, one screw at each of the uprights on either side of the grille accessable from under hood and 2 tabs that slide into brackets attached at the bottom of the headlights. I will be test fitting the R this weekend before painting and will post photo's.
