I just got a hand me down 99 Convertible Mustang. I have been noticing that it shake at 60mph or faster. I don't know much about mustangs but I was wondering is this a shock problem or spring or something else. I talk with the dealer people about it. They said that is normal. The car doesn’t shake on the outside but inside it does. Like the doors and steering wheel. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
Also I have been notice that when I start the car I hear a sound like a pump is having trouble working. It last for 20 seconds or so. When I stop at a red light or something its does it again but all the reading and temp idle of the car seem normal. Is that water pump or some other pump telling me that it needs to be replaced.
If I was the dealer, i would never have admitted that a car I try to sell was made so bad it would shake at 60 mph.
It's not normal. It could be unbalanced tires, or a bad tie rod end. It could be more, but that's where I'd start.
Mine does the same thing, only at around 65-70mph. It still does it even after a fresh alignment, wheel balance, etc. Of course, my car probably doesn't exactly have the straightest frame in the world either.
