Oil pan question...

Ok, to make a long story short, a local exhaust place ended up putting a nice size hole in my oil pan today and they are replacing it with a ford factory oil pan. Just wondering what I should look for tomorrow when I get the car back to make sure everything is ok. I know the owner of the chain and if it's not absolutely perfect he will do me right to make sure it ends up perfect. Just don't want to find out in 6 months there's something wrong with it. So basically, what all should I check tomorrow to make sure this oil pan is on correctly and nothing is messed up in the engine?

That's what I'd like to know.

I'd guess you'd look for the obvious...leaks and what not.

Re: Oil pan question...

Well, ok, here's the story:

I went up to midas to have my pipes run back out the back and my new tips put on. I ended up having to go get my Mach 1 mufflers b/c i wasn't thinking when i had the other mufflers put on and they were offset in, and center out. So, i went back and got those mufflers. They put the car up on the lift, cut the other ones off, welded the mach 1's back in, ran the pipes back out the back and started complaining b/c my new tips are 22" long. I showed the welder how to make those tips work. I was talking to one of the other guys working there when the welder lowers the car a few inches to get a better angle on the welds. The acetelyne bottle was on a cart which was under my oil pan. He lowered the whole car down on top of that bottle, and the gauge on top put a 2 inch diameter hole in my oil pan. Oil went everywhere, I went back in the waiting room while the manager proceeded to cuss the welder out for all he was worth lol. The manager came back in and told me he was gonna have the oil pan welded back up...I told him I want a new oil pan, so he ordered a new one, it'll be in tomorrow morning at 8:30. I'm at my parent's house and I was supposed to be at work today...so yeh, whole story, if you want cliff notes, grab a coke and read it anyways.

Re: Oil pan question...

My mom picked it up today...I'm hoping it's fixed b/c I'm not gonna be able to see or drive it till this weekend. So...if it's not fixed to my liking, I'm carrying it to the local svt dealer to have them do it right, and charge that to the shop.
