Because we all like to breathe clean air. That's like asking why we don't run leaded gas anymore.

Yah good luck finding a place that will remove them...best bet is to remove them yourself...immediately head over to the shop and have them install the hi flow cats. They do make a difference when compared to the stock 4. As far as passing smog, no idea.

Re: Why???

I know a nice little place, small run by two white guys who seem pretty cool. They charge $75 an hour and offered to install an xpipe with two high flow cats if i ever wanted it done (more correctly: if i ever have the money)

I didn't give a very good description h pipe with high flow cats or x pipe with no cats not that x or h matters i'm just thinking about switching from x to h

I had an o/r X & swapped to the o/r H on my old 96gt ( 2001 engine ). The H-pipe performed better than the x from idle to redline. The x was just louder.

It does. The x-pipe in general gives off a more raspy, poppy sound while the h-pipe favors a deeper rumble. I like the h-pipe sound better, but certainly don't mind the x-pipe, especially on cobras. Either one sounds good on a v8 IMO.

Re: Why???

Yeah, you're going to get that deep sound regardless. However, I have to use the H pipe to even make mine sound decent, in my eyes. You don't have that problem.
