4.10 Gears and Shiftpoints for Auto

I am thinking about getting 4.10 gears for my 2000 V6 Auto. I have a SCT X3 tuner already. Do I need to change the shift points? Will they be updated when I set the rear gear ratio to 4.10 or is that just for the speedometer calibration?

They should change when you update with the tuner. When I installed my gears my trans shifted crazy until I changed the gear in the trans to fix the speedo. My trans shifts correctly now. In saying this the trans & speedo work together.

I just ordered Motive Gears and master Bearing set along with the t-lok for $435 shipped. Now I need to save about $250 to have them installed.

I know the importance on the install, that is why I am not doing it myself.

Yah since you can't get actual Ford Racing gears easily anymore, the remaining available brands: Richmond, Motive, and Yukon are all known to whine to some extent...if they are installed correctly with proper backlash, pinion depth, shimming and such, the whine will be minimal to none.

I have the Motive gears, they whine @ low speeds. It's not bad.

Yah I've heard about some whine at low speeds with Motives...but not terrible, at least not noticeable enough to surpass the performance gained.

About 25-60mph is the loudest speed but @ 70+ they are completely quiet.
