picking up an 8.8 next week

w00t. by buddy is selling me his SVO 8.8 with upgraded brakes and 4.30's for a mere $160 and my rear seat delete.

the steep gearing will be perfect for city driving, keeping me in the bottom of 5th almost all the time. however, for highway i'll be running about 2900RPMs constantly.

order you a set of wheel spacers so you can get them asap, and you dont need a chip you can get a speedcal to fix your speedo.

SVO rear-end is wider than 94-98, which is what it was running on before-hand. and ya i plan to get a speedcal as well.

Re: picking up an 8.8 next week

i have a 99 mustang v6 and i just put an 8.8 from a 2000 gt on it. Assuming the 8.8 gears are stock, are my gears the same or will i also have to pick up a speedcal?

you have the same gears as a v6 stock so you should be fine.

hmm wonder what this will do for my 1/4 mile.

My 3.73s were worth 2.5 tenths~ you should be 3 or 3.5 tenths faster.

i'm hoping for a low 15 if i can get my 60' down. i ran consistant 15.8's with a 2.4 60', so i'm hoping with a combination of a 2.2 60' and lets say .3 off my 1/4 i'll be around...

a 15.2 or 15.3 or so if .1 in the 60' is worth about .2 in the overall.

finish my LT exhaust, flashtune and some actual decent tires should put me into the 14's easily

Re: picking up an 8.8 next week

you should be able to do 15.5's stock with a 2.1 60ft (what you should be able to do)
