O/D wiring

Alright, I ****ed up my o/d button trying to take off my shifter head. Common issue when messing with the stock shifter is severing the fragile o/d linkage, and I pulled them off the o/d button.

I figure I'll just relocate it. My question is can I just take the stock two black wires and wire them into a momentary switch? Or do I have to rewire and cut or splice stuff to use a switch?

Re: O/D wiring

its just a switch so it probably will be ok, but I would get the same style of switch~ a toggle would look funny IMO

Re: O/D wiring

Yah I'll get a momentary open push button style since the o/d connects 2 leads briefly, not actually turning if "off" or "on". I'll just reconnect the 2 black wires into the switch and see if that works.
