Push To Start Completed!!!

Let it never be said again that Stack Racing's push to start button is only for 05-09 mustangs!!!! I'd also like to give a thanks to OsirisGuy for the info he provided me on the wiring colors on a previous thread. Here is a picture (which sadly does not do the mod justice, but at least you can see it)

Re: Push To Start Completed!!!

Nice, that's sweet you got it to work for the 99-04. I must admit though, I like being able to take the key and turn it over that way. Hearing the exhaust push thru as the engine fires up is just one of those things...

I hear my exhaust as the engine fires up just fine. You can still turn the key over... but where is the fun in that? lol

This is one of those things that I think to myself... "What's the point?"

But... to each their own.

Whats the point of a silver AC knobs or a body kit? There really is not point except for the fact that it looks cool and is fun to use. It is one of those "awesome" things.

I thought about wiring it with a switch too. instead of turning the key to the "on" position, i would scrap the key and just flip a switch and push the button. Maybe i'll try it in the future.

That would be really cool. I just need to wait for the weather to warm back up. It snowed the first day of spring, in Texas??? Should be back in the 70s by Tuesday though, so I'll try to take some more pictures and do a write up.

Re: Push To Start Completed!!!

Just email me the pics and the write up (and where the pics need to go in sequence) and I will get the article up on the site~ it just has to be clear very descriptive and the pics have to be usable. when writing just dont assume anything

American Muscle has just accepted my proposal for a 99-04 write up... however, the pictures for them have to be 500 pixels or larger... and mine are only 300. So I have to re-do it. Will the 300pixel pictures be okay, or do you want to wait for the one for American Muscle to be complete?

It doesnt matter to me. Honestly the 300 pixel photos look fine. I guess AM just wants it to be super nice, which is understandable.

I'll send it to you, and if you think the photos need to be better, then I'll send you the new ones.

I dont know how long it will be until i can find someone who wants me to install a push to start on their car...

Re: Push To Start Completed!!!

Sounds good but I do need pics of the wiring and such else some may get lost in the process of trying to figure it out, perhaps some diagrams in MS paint or something to help keep an idea of what you are doing as well

Re: Push To Start Completed!!!

generally you put the key to the on position and then push the button to trigger the starter~ basically what turning the key the bit extra normally does~ I assume both ways work now
