Nice car

Thanks, it was the 100hp shot of nitrous that did it.

Re: Questions on 06 pony

Ok. I've read alot of cool things from alot of really cool guys. My main thing is that :
a) I drive about 40 miles one way to work and have a 2006 Pony w about 15000 miles already,
b) I need this car to last a while. Family man duties ya know. I get about 22 mpg which isn't bad for the lousy traffic on the Virginia roads ( yuck rt 66)
I want to change this to both improve performance and try to improve fuel ( or try to stay close to what I get now) I know increasing perf. generally increases fuel cons.
I want to develop a plan for a ( eventual) total pakage ( don't want to add "a" if later on I add "b" and they don't work together. And these changes kinda have to be "stupid" friendly. Easy to use/install. Funny thing is, I used to have a 66 el-camino with a tunnel ram and 2-4's, 410 gears and a 12:1 motor, but this new stuff kinda.... well, scares me. Guess I've been out of the loop for a while.
The main thing that drives me crazy is the " lag" God I hate that. Hit the gas and a week and a half later it goes. UUUUGGGHH
I think I like the sound clip of the JBA True Dual with the "H" pipe. Yeah I guess a 6 will always sound like a 6. More later dudes

Has anyone put 3:73s in there stang. Im thinking of doing it myself? What, if any special tools do i need? Also, how big was the difference in launching and all around driving?

Re: Questions on 06 pony

All V6 mustangs come with 7.5 rearends and there are hundreds of people with 3.73 and 4.10 gears sets in there cars. This is one of the firstmajor mods people do. As far as doing it yourself I suggest if you are not a moderate to expert mechanic do not try this. You have to use a micrometer to measure backlash. If you have a friend who is a mechanic who has done this before and will do it with you I would say go for it. If you are trying to do this unassisted I would say dont. There is a big difference in launching and you wont really notice much in intown driving but on the interstate you will be running a little more RPMs at interstate speeds.

I dyno'd before and after for Y vs. X and on a dynojet, showed a gain of 2HP in favor of the X pipe. However, this is arguable on a dynojet, air density, temps, etc. Even with proper cool down.
