Re: shift interlock

That doesn't help too much! Plus manual transmission cars have the same brake pedal switch

haha..

Really though the brake pedal position switch shouldn't keep breaking - It might be misaligned so when it's at full stop it puts stress on the switch..

Note, when it's broken, the brake lights won't come on either when you hit the brakes

I wear size 14 shoes so it shouldn't be related to shoe size

Best way to check it, is install a new switch, lay in the car, use a flashlight to watch the actual switching mechanism, press the brake pedal down (might help to have the car ON so you have brake assist) and see if the pedal moves cleanly up/down without putting any unwanted pressure on the switch..

I have seen the bracket the switch mounts to can be slightly out of place, just enough for a quick hard stop to damage the sensor - the bracket is easy to adjust, how much travel does the brake pedal have before the brake lights come on?

Re: shift interlock

get a mirror and someone to push down no the brake petal and inspect the travel to see what could cause it. As said above it could be a slight alignment issue.
