Re: 1998 mustang fog lights

Your car probably didnt ever have the wiring, some v6's did and some did did not.

You can order a wiring kit from many sources and just install it~ thats probably the best way. Check with americanmuscle.com and the other sponsors one may have the fog light wiring kit you need. Make sure the plug in connectors for the fog lights fit the cobra fogs. I know some times they might be different (hopefully in 94-98 they were all the same gt or cobra plug connection wise)

I know many have used VMP as well, here is the link http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...parent=35&pg=1

Re: 1998 mustang fog lights

i got my fog lights and wiring kit on ebay. all i had to do was hook up the fog lights to the bumper where their supposed to go and then splice in the wiring harness to running lights. it wasnt too hard. just a pain in the but taking off the bumper to hook up the mounts for the lights.

Re: 1998 mustang fog lights

^^^You were more ambitious than I was...I threw the ***** on ramps and crawled under and mounted the fogs.

Yah some of the 94-96 v6's came pre wired from the factory. Either way, wiring kits are available from many vendors and are fairly cheap. I think the connectors are the same for the 94-98 models, I know the 03/04 cobra's connectors are different than the GT/Mach 1's connectors. You may also need a fog light switch and relay. Some kits include those along with the wiring.

Re: 1998 mustang fog lights

yea there was no way i could find a way to get them on there without taking off the bumper. i tried numerous times and couldnt do it. theres foam blocks stuffed in my metal bumper of the car so i couldnt get my hands and bolts in there. if they werent there then i wouldnt have had to take off the bumper. but oh well. i got them on and i love them.

but my wiring harness came with a switch and relay but i took out the switch and just made it so their on all the time since i have HID's i dont need my high beams so they dont have to shut off. i think i need to wire in another relay though because i keep blowing fuses since i put in the HID fog lights. any ideas on that one?
