Modifying CAI

This is what my CAI looks like. My filter in in the fenderwell and is very difficult and time consuming to take the filter out and even takes longer to position it back in place. What I'd like to do is cut a piece of my tubing between the MAF and the filter so that the filter remains exposed. What I need is an idea of a clamp or brace to hold the tubing in place and not be hanging off of the throttle body. Any ideas?

Re: Modifying CAI

I'll be doing the same thing and am thinking about just a bracket that
has a tab on top that I can hose clamp to the CAI tube and bolt to the
inner fender below it. It is as simple as it gets, very similar to the bracket
that bolts to it now but narrower and turned so it clamps to the part before
the mass air meter. You might even modify your existing bracket but it would
be ruined for re-fitting it as it was originally intended.

Re: Modifying CAI

well... its easier to find a cheaper one that goes into your fenderwell than into just your engine bay. Plus, the air in your wheel well is a little cooler than right next to your engine, but the one in your engine bay is shorter, so the air doesnt have to travel as far. basically... i would say there isnt much difference
