| Need a torque spec??
going to put on the UD pulley I got from sonic blue, anyone know the spec for the main bolt holding the pulley on?

on my 01 it was 125-130ftlbs, it is very tight and you have to recheck it after a few miles, if its loose you can get cel missfire codes or worse (ruined crank)

I haven't been able to get it much over 70 ft lbs, it keeps turning when I try and torque it tight.

its gots to be tighter than that. is it in gear.

Heck, I have driven it since then, I thought it was, but I had the handbrake up, it could have been out of gear and I didn't realize it, its that that hard to get to from the bottom, I think I might be able to get the torque wrench on it without taking off a lot of stuff, if I have to remove stuff, its not that bad either.

I didnt have a problem getting mine tq'ed on my 01 manual.

I remember the GT being a pain, but it was an Automatic too. This being a manual it should be easier, I might not have had it in gear.

Come to think of it, it was turning when I tried breaking the bolt loose with my breaker bar too, I got out the air impact wrench and spun it loose easily.

Put the car in 5th gear, it will be alot harder to turn it then. That's what I did to my friend's gt when I put u/d pulleys on it.

Ohhh, well now, that makes sense, i will try that tomorrow! I wish I knew that correct torque spec, I have a feeling the 4.0L might not be the same as the 3.8L.

Got a torque spec, its only 80ft lbs, I got the torque wrench back on it without taking anything off, and retorqued it to a tad over 80ft lbs, so that should do it guys, its installed, and I can feel some difference in power. I can still turn a bolt or two, even with my messed up back!
