2 Codes Need Help

My car is giving me 2 codes now. One P0135 and the other P0155. One has to do with bank 1 o2 sensor and the other bank 2 o2 sensor. now i bought a replacement o2 sensor for the driver side because the wire is completely melted through from getting stuck on the header. could this cause the other side to be giving a code? or what could the problem be with the other side? and is $50 too much to be paying for a replacement bosch sensor? its the 18" one to give extra clearance for the header.

did you use extenders or did you just use longer wires? the 18" should be long enough for the long tubes right?

Try autoparts123.com for the O2s that was the cheapest place I found I got the 26" ones rather than buying extenders. Dont go to Discount O2sensors.com I ordered from there and got an email 4 days kater saying they no longer stock them. Its been a week and still waiting for my refund.

They should be long enough, I didn't use extenders at all.

Re: 2 Codes Need Help

I needed 12inches over stock on passanger side for my LTs driver side barely reached. The rear ones where perfect. So I'm only replacing front for now.

If it melted against the header check the fuse panel under the steering wheel as it probably shorted out the fuse. Thats what happened on my car as well and that would cause both your codes.

hmm ok. well im gonna go ahead and replace the sensor on the driver side for now. its alright to have the stock one on the passenger side and bosch on the driver side? is there a number for that fuse? whats the best way to check? that would make sense as the passenger side seems to still be intact.

You need to check your user manual for the fuse. It should be like the number 8 fuse like mine was. It's the first 20 amp fuse in the second row of fuses where the first row is closest to the firewall. You could leave the stocker in, but I've always heard it's best to replace both to keep them the same.

did a google search and this is what came up:

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...el_diagram.jpg

is that similar? im gonna take a look tomorrow, but is it the one for engine controls? and i just go to autozone for a new fuse?

and i might just wait on the passenger side o2 sensor. i just put the door handle on today and am trying to take care of the exhaust leak, hood latch, etc over spring break.

Yes, that's the one. Just pull it out with the tool that's in the plastic cover and look at it. If it's blown, the metal strap inside will be in 2 pieces.

Okay so i checked the fuse and it looked to be good. I went ahead and installed the bosch o2 sensor on the driver side only and cleared the codes. Ive put about 10 miles on the car since and the code hasnt come back. So hopefully that took care of both codes

Re: 2 Codes Need Help

You could get a fuse tester (buss has a kit with fuses and a tester) and make sure. sometimes a fuse "Looks" ok but may have a small fracture. besides its a good idea to have spare fuses in your car in case one goes out at a bad time. You wouldnt want to be stranded over such a cheap part would you?
