It goes both ways...in one sense you have a badass v6 that's running 12's (which is pretty good for an auto v6, it's come a long way from 16's), but then no matter what you do to that v6 it'll still never have that v8 sound.

It's all in what you want and can live with. I couldn't live with just a 400 rwhp v6...as funny as it sounds, I'd have to have a 400 rwhp v8 sitting next to it

Re: Calling all 6 bangers.

If you want sound just go buy a damn civic and put a fart cannon on it and be done with it. Hell some folks around here just stab the muffler with a screwdriver a few times. You can have 600 HP in ricer math too.

Did you see the pinks episode with the 600 hp Civic vs the 600 HP Trans am (or firebird)?
The Pontiac probably weighed twice as much as the civic. The guy in the civic claimed he had 600 HP but even with several lengths and half the weight he could not beat a 600 HP Pontiac.

Re: Calling all 6 bangers.

There are some motors just don't have "the sound"....I4's, V6's, and V10's. If you're after sound, V8's and V12's are the ones to gun for. This is just a piece of reality that one has to make peace with from the get go. But......if sound isn't a concern......then pick you're poison

Re: Calling all 6 bangers.

Rinfield have you ever heard a triton V10? Because we have one in the truck at work and thats a bad mother. I'll take that over a 4.6 any day.

Most V12s I've heard sound like a V6 on roids.

I've still never seen a 100% stock termi run 12s...

Your car was 18k with 36k and 7k for a blower = 25k?

you can buy an 10k mile v6 and run 10s for half of that, its really not a battle just saying.

If I wanted a v8 it would have to be an LS1 or a new 5.0

Stock Cobra time slips vary, due to the difficult nature of launching the car. A good driver should see the 1/4 times as reported in the book 'Iron First Lead Foot'. Coupe: 12.67 @ 110
Convertible: 12.99 @ 109

0-60 times average 4.5 for the coupe and 4.6 for the convertible.
