Re: New Upgrades

Lookin good. Definitely adds some character!

I see you're heading towards the white/black scheme. Some tail light tint, and a mach 1 chin spoiler would compliment the other additions nicely.

tailight tint and chin spoiler as well as a grille delete. id say the grille delete and chin spoiler were two of my favorite mods before i got in an accident and had to put on a cobra front.

looking good though. i like the black scoop. not really into the halo lights but as long as you like them thats all that matters.

imo the covers are cheap looking. the taillight tint looks very good. i wouldnt get the leds if your gonna tint them though.

Re: New Upgrades

+1 on the grille delete. I just put mine in this spring and couldn't be happier. Having that, the chin spoiler and the fog lights really clean up the front end.

Personally, I like just tinting the stock tail lights. I'm not a big fan of the aftermarket tails, especially the euro style and led style, but to each his own. I have 2 issues with covers. 1. they just velcro or snap on, which leaves room for dirt to collect and I've heard of them flying off on the interstate. 2. those covers eliminate the tri-bar look, total no no in my book, but again, my opinion.

Re: New Upgrades

This kit has everything you need. When you get it, it'll probably come rolled up, let it sit out in the sun or somewhere to unroll and it'll be fine. I let mine sit for a couple days and it was perfect.

Yah you gotta watch that, get modding too much then the next day you turn on the tv and find out they've turned off your cable tv, lol.

But the mach 1 chin spoiler really does make a difference. It's a nice piece and hides those ugly plastic pieces under the bumper.

I've seen more and more 94-98's use the chin spoilers. If it's done right it does look decent. Make sure you keep it towards the edge of the bumper more than tucked in. I wouldn't put it on the edge, but just inside of it.

What hood scoop are you thinking about for your car? I've seen the 99-04 hood scoop on the 94-98's, it looked alright, definitely different I've always liked the 96-98 cobra hood.

Better check with local law enforcement or look online for a statute in NY.

Re: New Upgrades

alright thanks for the help on where to put it when i get one. but im not sure about the hood scoop yet. what would you go with if it was your car and you were getting one? are they hard to put on? but that hood is pretty cool looking. i like the double lip in the middle of the hood. since mine only has one lip.

Re: New Upgrades

It's hard to say...I almost bought a 98 GT same color as yours. I probably would have left the hood stock because it is tough to do anything with. I would've had to replace the whole hood and that gets expensive.

Like I said, I've seen the +99 scoop on a sn95, so it is possible. Not sure how difficult it would be. The dimensions and curvature of the 94-98's are much different than the +99's. The shaker scoop would look sweet but it's pretty expensive. Look at some different hood scoops for 99-04's and 05+. Try and picture how they'd look on your car.

Re: New Upgrades

i could go with any of these and try to make them work. you never know if they would work or not. it would just be a process or elimination.

1. Xenon Mustang Hood Scoop (94-98) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

2. Mustang Hood Scoop - Unpainted (05-10) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

3. Xenon Mustang Hood Scoop - Unpainted (05-09) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

4. Roush Mustang Hood Scoop - Unpainted (05-09) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

or 5. Cervini's M1 Hood Scoop - Unpainted (05-09) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

i would just have to order one and place it on the hood and see if i could do it and if id like it and if not then send it back and go to the next one in line. i dont know what one i would want. any ideas anyone?

Re: New Upgrades

Well you see that the Xenon scoop fits. It's specifically for that body style and there's pictures of 5 mustangs with the scoop. I know the +99 scoop fits. My only concern regarding the 05-09 scoops is whether they will fit on the 98 hood. I don't know if they are designed to fit the contour and tapering of the older model mustang hoods. I'd call and ask them at American Muscle before ordering anything. Make it easier on yourself.

It's up to you man, it's your car, don't let someone's opinion make you not like something.

But if you personally are starting to dislike the hood scoops on your car, you could look into a cheaper cowl or cobra hood on craiglist or mustang forums. If you can pick one up for a couple hundred bucks then it's about the same as buying one of those hood scoops and having it painted.

I think the 94-98 cars look pretty good with the stock hood. The rounded body style doesn't really demand any scoops or additions, it still looks good without anything on it.

Re: New Upgrades

Get some bullit or fr500 rims and put smoked or stock headlights back on.

And get rid of those mudflaps and the windgaurds on the windows.
Those look good on trucks and camaros not mustangs.
