What are 99-04 Mustangs called? SN95?

Maybe an expert here can clear this up for me. I understand that all 79-93 Mustangs are called "Fox Body". I also know that the 94-98's were designated "SN95" because that was the Ford code name for the project for the new 1994 design concept. If this is true, why are the 99-04's also lumped into the "SN95" designation? Or do they have one of their own I don't know about? Or are they just "99-04"? Just curious......

I believe because they both use practically the same platform.

Like beaner said, they are on an almost identical platform. Some people refer to the 99-04s as "New Edge" though to specify.

Yes, technically they are sn95's, I call them new edge just to clear up any confusion when discussing.

Re: What are 99-04 Mustangs called? SN95?

99-04's ARE sn95's becuz they share platform and layout, ford just gave them a mild face lift for the 99 year, so we call them "new edge" mustangs... the difference is mostly on the outside, body panels and such, but 99 was also the year that ford gave the v6 stang it's split port heads and intake

so your 99-04 stangs is a "new edge sn95"

hope that helps

p.s. 2005+ mustangs are S197's
