Ceramic lifter check balls
Fully ported M90 supercharger w/ +10% OD pulley
Fully ported intake plenums and manifold
Larger injectors

First of all, welcome to the site. Engine looks badass. Did you do all the work by yourself? And like above, what kind of numbers is it putting down?

Also, what made you stay with the single port setup? Just for the m90 setup or to get more torque?

Hey thanks! I did everything pretty much by myself, I build GM LS racing engines (check out Schwanke's link in my sig.) with a full machine shop so I had that at my disposal. Went with the single port just to keep the setup cheap and easy, got the whole top end (heads, plenums, blower, everything for under $500) Was looking for the roots blower torque curve as well, this is my daily driver so I based the build on being a street car. Looking for low end acceleration, not so much high RPM top speed.

No numbers yet, my only goal is 400+ft/lbs at the wheels. First start expected within 2 weeks.

Re: V6KR - Stroked/Forged/Blown 4.2L 2002

welcome

Very nice build. We were just talking about this in another thread. Basically if you have the resources (that you have available) and were able to get the parts for a song (as you did), the M90/3.8/4.2 single port build would be worth it on a 99+ car. I'm very interested to see what numbers you make. I might have missed it in your first post, but what size pulley will you be running on that m90?

The pulley is +10%, I'm sitting in a economics class at the moment and I can't remember the exact size.

i emailed mac and they told me that they dont make any long tube headers for a 98 v6 mustang. he said no one has come by their shop to let them experiment and get measurements of the car for them to make some.

ok so i looked on another site and here is what i came up with:

Long Tube Headers, Everthing you need to know - 3.8 Mustang Message Board

as it sais the 98 will fit on the 94-97, but you have to modify the egr tube or delete it. as you dont really need it, i would say go for that. here is a site to get the headers:

Mustang V6 Headers from StangMods.com

you can also order the block off kit from here:

CRT RACING PERFORMANCE - EGR Block Offs

ive ordered from him before and he is a good guy and does real good work on porting and such. just didnt get the chance to do the heads and such.

all else you need is the mid-pipe, o2 extenders and a tuner to turn off the back sensors and the egr system.

Re: V6KR - Stroked/Forged/Blown 4.2L 2002

I got the frozenboost.com DIY intercooler kit today. It came with the intercooler, heat exchanger, water pump and a 7" fan w/ install kit. I have to say this stuff is awesome! The material is very heavy duty and well built. Shipped weight was 27 pounds with only a couple or so pounds being the boxes and such. I finished college last night so I'll be moving back to where the car is tomorrow. Now I can actually get some work done! I will have more pictures of mock up shortly followed soon by some start up videos. The to do list is pretty short.

Last weekend I didn't really get anything done. I got the A/C delete pulley bolted on and the belt routed.

Thanks. Magnum Powers has a pretty sweet upgraded M90. Along with plenums, crank, jackshaft and blower pulleys, throttle bodies, raised tops.. you name it. I have a 10% OD pulley on mine to start.

I don't know. The intercooler is advertised as having .1 psi drop. I'm trying to design the intercooling system to be as short as possible. Trying to avoid boost drop, hot intake temps and any sort of lag.

Re: V6KR - Stroked/Forged/Blown 4.2L 2002

Thanks man! Dyno day is getting closer and closer.

Done with school and moved back to my car. I have been up until at least 2am for the last 3 nights working on the Mustang. All I really have to do to get it started is bolt in the driveshaft and make a fuel return line. A few of the things that I completed since I’ve moved home are getting the heat exchanger and fan mounted, made a elbow to connect the blower to the intake plenum until I can get all the piping installed which I am expecting to be quite a challenge. The elbow looks terrible and I hope you all just forget you ever saw it! I made the temporary plenum loop just to get up and running, I will be running un-intercooled just until I get the piping figured out. The intercooler is getting the mounting mocked up (another challenge). I got a few other little things wrapped up like finishing the throttle cable, running vacuum lines, installed a boost gauge and reworked my gauge pod, wired in the HE fan, got the intake assembled and installed. I’m sure there’s more, but you get the idea. Here are pictures.

CHECKING AIR FLOW THROUGH THE HEAT EXCHANGER

HEAT EXCHANGER AND FAN FINAL MOUNT

INTERCOOLER MOCK UP
