Exclamation very noticeable shaking/bad accel

for awhile now ive notice when my car get to about a quarter tank of gas left, when i accelerate my CAI shakes violently(although if i try to move it with my hands with wont budge) and my whole car just shakes. ill try to accelerate, it moves, but very slowly, and the exhaust stutters like mad.

its not only when i have a quarter tank left. sometimes ill have plenty of gas. its just happens more frequently with a qtr tank and hot days.

i have no idea how to even explain whats happening better than that. damn. but something is NOT right

Yah could be a couple different things like that ~ misfire and such. When's the last time you replaced your fuel filter...could be plugged.

Re: very noticeable shaking/bad accel

You can read your check engine light codes with your SCT Tuner. You may have codes stored and not have your check engine light on. If you pull a code write it down before you clear it so you can post it up here for help. Fuel filters are easy to change they are under the car in front of your fuel tank. May be a good idea to replace it if you have over 30k on your Stang. Does it shift smoothly? My mothers Navigator had a shutter during acceleration it turned out to be a bad transmission.

Re: very noticeable shaking/bad accel

It could be...in that case I'd bring it in right away and have it checked out before things get worse. We had a similar issue with an impala. It would shudder and hesitate upon moderate acceleration from 50-65. Had the chevy dealer do a diagnostic and found out one of the electrically controlled solenoids wasn't redirecting fluid properly to the clutch pack. It was something that would cost less to fix immediately rather than wait and need a completely new transmission.

It could be one of several different things within your transmission if that's the case. Newer auto transmissions are filled with electronics and are quite complex (as all auto trans. are compared to manuals). That's why I'd suggest bringing it in to get an idea of what's going on.
