Calling all 2005-2009 Autos.....

When you guys start your car and shift the gears from park to drive is it a little hard to move the T handle. It only happens when the car is first started after sitting either overnight or when Im at work when the car isn't used.

I don't think that it is a problem just something that has been bugging me lately.

Don't have that problem with my car. The only thing that happens to mine. Sometimes when I shift to park it doesn't lock in park and I have to go back reverse then back to park.

Yeah since I posted I have not had the problem. Maybe posting a problem will fix it.

I get that sometimes. It seems to happen when I'm in a hurry, I pull back on it too hard and it goes to neutral. It's never bothered me though. My last car, a Chrysler you didn't have to engage the break to shift from P-R.

I don't think that the brake engaged lock came around until the late-80s/early-90s timeframe. My old '84 Cavalier and '88 Camaro would come out of park without the brake. I can't remember if my '90 Cutlass would, or not. My '02 WS6 and my '00 'vette both required braking, though.
