lost to a 2005+ v6 mustang

I saw this 2005+ v6 mustang and I followed it in my 2004 auto v6 mustang we stopped at a light and we desired to go for it this guy’s car look stock at lease it look that way but when the light turned green he smoke the crap of my car I felt like I was racing a V8

I don’t know if his car was a automatic or not and I know 2005+ are faster than 2004 but I have intake and flowmasters and the way I lost was really, really bad

Is there that much of the difference between the 2 cars or between an auto and a stick?

yeah, huge difference... 5 speed auto (05+) vs. 4 speed auto (your's). The new autos run almost what the sticks run Then you have to throw in the added torque and horsepower, and that the new one probably hasn't had a chance to have the engine beat on. The mods you have... don't really do much either. CAI... maybe 1-2 hp... the flows... maybe what, 5? So, if we round up, we could give your car 200 horsepower, and the 05+'s have 210. So, you're behind, and then they have a far superior 5 speed auto. I don't remember what they run in the quarter mile, but I'm sure it's a decent amount faster than the previous gen. autos.

also, I laughed really hard at the phrasing: we desired to go for it

vmptuning.com
and stangsuspension.com
Get 4.10 gears and a t-lok from stang suspension and a good tune from vmp then race one again

your 04 auto is a 16 second car, the new 05+ manuals are much faster than that, you should have lost by more than two cars.

yeah, picking up a 99-04 5 speed GT.. you'll rape him as badly as he raped you. They run right around the 14.0 mark. (see sig )

Re: lost to a 2005+ v6 mustang

I thought about a GT but... they were to slow for me I could have saved a ton though if they would have had decent power in 99-04 range.

rub in the Cobra some more, j/k
naaa, I'll get to the Cobra point some time, but the GT is a HUGE improvement over the v-6 automatic.
