Re: Used Turbocharger

after you fab it up the stock block will be ok at 10-12 psi depending on tune, its all depending on the tune.

Re: Used Turbocharger

It is going to take lots of work to fab everyting you need to mount the Turbo unless it came off of a V6. This web site should help out a bit this gut builds custom turbo kits just for V6 mustangs.

Re: Used Turbocharger

well, you have the turbo..but do you have anything else? There is a ton of stuff that goes into making your car turbo'd. You'll have to have tubing that fits your car (fabing means fabricating, which is like building specifically for your car), then you'll have to have new fuel injectors, fuel pump, intercooler (probly) and so on. Just having a turbocharger does not mean your car is anywhere close to being turbo'd. If your serious about it this is a great place to learn about it. Darkshadow recently finished turboing his v6 stang and i'm sure he can tell you all about the little costs and details that are involved.

Re: Used Turbocharger

ok sounds good, but will just adding the turbo kit itself result in any change in HP? Like will I feel a difference?

You serious? The whole point in adding forced inductioin is to make more hp and torque.
The power you make depends on how much boost your wastegate is set for. 4 psi will get you between 220-245 rwhp and 10 psi 320-350 rwhp. Those are average gains for a stock 99-04 V6.
Since my V6 felt faster with all the bolt ons, I'm sure you'll feel the difference even with only running 4 psi.

Re: Used Turbocharger

You have to change the wastegate spring to get more or less boost. You can use your stock injectors, fuel pump and MAF ( Mass air flow) with 4#'s of boost if you go any more you will have to change all of the above to meet the fuel demands of more boost. Go to the website I have linked in my previous thread and it will answer alot of your questions

Re: Used Turbocharger

I don't want to sound like an ***, but you should do a LOT of reading and research before you go and put anymore money into this. This is no easy bolt on project. Even if you do get all the equipment, get everything fabbed up, which will be very difficult unless you just buy piping from Andy on TMA, get it all installed, and check for all the things you might have missed, you will still need to get it tuned. I have had my car done since April and I'm still working on getting the tuned straightened out. If you have someone who know what they are doing in your area, it may not be as hard for you on that part.

But if you don't know how to increase PSI, you really need to do some reading.
