Premium Fuel

Im sure there is a way to tune a v6 2002 mustang to eat up premium fuel more effectively.

Is there? and if so any gains? And another probably stupid question... do all cowl induction hoods hook up to the manifold?

Re: Premium Fuel

Cowl induction hoods do not hook up to the manifold.
VMP Tuning Inc can set you up with a premium tune.

Re: Premium Fuel

until your tuned there is no point in putting premium in the car.

Re: Premium Fuel

it's been said that the non rated octane in your car can actually reduce performance w/o the ecu tuned. the only thing you'd use premium for old *** cars to reduce chance of detonation. if you're going to do anything the manifold as far as hood hook up, it's the ram air shaker system, but it's been said it's not very effective unless at very high speeds

Re: Premium Fuel

ram air systems on todays cars are useless... they are for looks only... unless you plan on going 150mph+

Re: Premium Fuel

You will get no gain from higher octane fuel unless your tuned for it

Re: Premium Fuel

Premium fuel + a tune for it is worth 7-12RWHP and 7-12RWTQ throughout the RPM range. MPG will go up by about .5 as well.
