Unless you plan on a lot of mods, the stock 7.5 should be fine, but if you do, go ahead and get the 8.8. Either one really.

I think she's asking for gear ratios...
Is it a v8 or v6? I say either 4.10s or 3.73w

3.73's will raise your rpms a modest amount, If I recall right I went up 400rpms~ from my 2.73 gears to 3.73 gears. If your car is a v6 then you have 2.73 for sure. If you have an auto 3.73 or 4.10s are good. Expect 2-3 mpg loss on the highway and to pick up about 1mpg in the city (depending on driving habbits)

Sorry for not being more specific. I'm going with an 8.8 I already have alot of mods on it. I'm just not sure if I should go with 3:55,3:73 or 4:10. |

WOW I was kinda wanting to avoid that. I was told that I should go with either 3:73 or 4:10.Does any1 have any idea why people suggest such large gears for automatics?

You gear automatics lower than you do manuals because automatic transmissions are geared higher in Mustangs I believe.

So far I have CAI,dual exhuast with Flowmasters, UDP, 56mm throttle body,p&p upper intake, 1.8 roller rockers,190 fuel pump and Superchip. But I'm going to get the SCT from vmptuning and 19 lbs injectors.

What kind of driving do you do? Mostly in the city or out on the highway?
If it's mostly highway driving, I'd get the 3.73s. If it's mostly stop and go, I'd get the 4.10s. The 4.10s may actually get better gas mileage than the 3.73s if you are constantly having to drive at 40 mph...

I have a 97 automatic with 4.10's and a t-loc and I would not trade them for 3.73's. Def go with the 4.10's |

Its a V6. And getting 4:10's isn't harmfull to the car.

I would assume it is a v6 because it has a 56mm throttle body (sorry didn't see your last post)
