transmission fluid/filter change

I was going to do this myself, but not able to get the car far enough off ground to comfortably do the job, so I got an estimate from my garage that I do trust to do the work. My question is, they are quoting doing a complete power flush and fluid change.
I've been told different opinions by some that on a car as mine, 120,000 miles, they would only change out the pan fluid and filter, that after doing a complete they ran into problems.
Anyone have any first hand experience with either?

Re: transmission fluid/filter change

hmm if you have never changed your fluid and the car has 120k miles thats simply BAD in general, they say if you drain the fluid and put fresh in all the little metal flakes that have worn off over the years are what keeps the belts from slipping, those are gone with new fluid and can cause issues. I have no idea if thats true~

I have always heard if you've never done it don't do it...

Personally I recommend a machine flush every 50k. Normally costs around $100 at a dealership to have it done.
