Replacing the rear end

I'm going to be replacing the rear end in my 1995 Mustang. It has a 7.5 with ABS. I was needing to know if i was to buy a rear end without ABS if it would still bolt up and work. Or if i can take off the sensors from the old rear end. I'm looking to do this to save about $150.

Re: Replacing the rear end

you can take the axles out of your current rear end and reuse them in the new rear end~ as the gears I do believe are made into the axles (interchangable axles by the way) then reuse the other things, I think you can make it work~ You would need to inspect the mounting hard ware on the rear end, just take the wheel off and maybe the brake caliper and see if the sensor mounts universally or comes off so you can put it on the new rear end.

Re: Replacing the rear end

^good info...you may want to look into a GT rearend...an upgrade from 7.5" to 8.8". Comes with the tlok in it and 8.8" gears and is much stronger as the spider gears in the 7.5" are weak.

Just a suggestion, as these days it costs about the same to swap in an 8.8" rear as it does to get a new 7.5".
