Cool Lagging throttle response/chugging at 2,000 rpms

I recently bought a 2003 Roush stage1. I've hardly touched this thing yet besides the obvious fluid changes and some fuel system cleaner. To my knowledge the car has been sitting for a long time. It has 52,000 miles on it. I'm wondering if any1 has a clue to why this is happening. The gas mileage has been sh*t. I'm thinking about changing the spark plugs and getting a k&n cold air intake for now. Any suggestions or similar experiences with any help would be awesome

What fluids did you change? Did you replace the fuel filter? If you change plugs you might want to do the wires as well they could crack from age. Check to see if any vacume lines are cracked. Check for animal nest in the intake or dirty filter. Check your exhaust manifold for cracks (especialy passanger side)

May want to run some sea foam through it as well. That will break up and remove any carbon deposits and grime making the engine run much better.

Probably better off not useing the Q tips and just spraying it with MAF cleaner. You can easily break it with a q tip. Just spray the hell out of it with MAF cleaner untill its no longer black but silver.

I also second the seafoam. 2/3 in tank 1/3 thru the brake booster.

yeah, I guess you could break it but when I used MAF cleaner it left a film on the wires so I use q-tips and rub-alcohol for the past 8 yrs.

Use another brand, MAF Cleaner should evaporate completly leaving no residue of its own.
