the rear caliper actually has to be "twisted" back in... i think theres a tool for it, but ive never done it. I know theres a twisting technique involved though.

Thats right. I forgot. My Integra was that way. I believe that I twisted it back with a rag inbetween the piston, and some Channel Locks

Re: what am i doing wrong???

yes the rear caliper pistons need to be screwed back in, not pressed in with a C-clamp like 95% of every other car on the road. i learnt the hard way thinking BOTH my rears were seized and got a new set, and since they were already pressed, thinking i was correct, only to come here and talk of my bad luck only to find out im dumb'r than i though i is.

you can probably rent the tool or might as well just buy it, chances are one day youre gonna need the tool again, and itll likely pay for itself in two uses as opposed to renting it twice.

Re: what am i doing wrong???

in a pinch it should be possible to twist the rear calipers back in using a pair of needle nose pliers.. (the larger the better) just be sure to get into the tabs for the tool, and don't hit the boot or sides of the piston..

If you go to a autoparts place the socket adapter for the rear brakes is less than $10
