so whats up with Delk performance???

Just ordered a set of forged Conn rods and pistons through Delk performance out of lebanon tn. I'm not hearing a lot good things about them. So what's their deal? What is it about them that preceeds their reputation? What kind of things am I to expect out of them? Or am I cool just ordering from them?

Bear in mind they weren't my 1st choice in ordering through. But SuperSix is apparently avoiding my calls. I do call a lot, but there's just so much that I'm eager to know and understand. If that gives any insite to the mayham.

But back to Delk.....so what's their deal?

I used to hear only great things, then you hear a few bad then good then bad... then good. back and forth with them. I know some of it is the owners not the business but... with the number of issues I hear... some of it has to be on their end.

Some SWEAR by them but it seems over the last bit they have lost a lot of reputation. Perhaps they swapped owners? that can cause all sorts of issues with people jumping in and buying up a business then having issues.

Most of what I have heard is issues with builds not parts and such~ hopefully you will get what you ordered in a timely manor.

Parts shouldn't be a problem... Builds are another thing. And I don't know who {swears} buy Delk!

Did you pistons also?

Ive heard nothing but bad things about delk. They charge way to high of prices and there are several horror stories of there engines being crap. then they just blame it on the customer.

Re: so whats up with Delk performance???

Well I'm building my motor with the help of a tech I work with at a dealership I'm at. Aside from the motor removal I've done everything myself. Now once I get everything back my techs gonna build it.
So the only connection I have with Delk is the parts and information. The rest is all my tech and I.

Re: so whats up with Delk performance???

No ones said anything bad about supersix. I believe the problem with the engine in the link was wrong parts.

Well, I really would have liked to have bought my stuff through SuperSix. But he wasn't ever available.

Re: so whats up with Delk performance???

So here's whats up......this is my 1st engine build for myself. And the learning curve has retarded steep. After talkin with you guys about delk and such, talking with the techs I work with, and the guys at the parts store.....I have grown to seriously question delks compitentcy. Becuase I'm questioning the information I've been getting from them...which has been conflictig with what supersix has been telling me.

So I went ahead and ordered a supercoupe crank. So now, my bottom end will be forged. And now its just simply a waiting game. waiting for all the **** to come in from order and machine shop.

I do appreciate the information given. Believe it or not, I do consider you guys as a source. All that said, this project thus far has been a *****, but a retarded steep learning curve none the less. So, life lessons learned.
