05 trunk release button

Ok a while back the remote button to open my trunk quit working on both remotes, so I doubt they are the problem. Any body have a clue on where to start, maybe the solenoid for it or a fuse.

Thanks

Re: 05 trunk release button

How bout a battery for that remote? Also see if u have the window roll down option. Double click like you are goin to unlock both doors and on the 2nd click hold the button down. Some 05's had this option,I sold my 05 in less than a month after buying it so I never got to check it.

Re: 05 trunk release button

I have checked all the fuses that have any relevance to the trunk and any components back there, they all were ok. The remote works with every other command, door lock/unlock, alarm, but the trunk release doesn't work.

Re: 05 trunk release button

I would check all your fuses. Make sure the car is off, and pull out the fuses individually (except any SRS fuses, if equipped). IF the interior is good then check under the hood.

Another way to start trouble shooting is to put your ear up to the trunk latch and click the trunk release. Listen for the solenoid, or a "click". If there is no click there is most likely an electrical problem.

Additionally you can try making sure the car is unlocked first and then pop the trunk. I've come across keyless entries which will not pop the trunk unless the car has been unlocked first, otherwise the trunk would not open or the alarm would go off.
