Re: is this fake

It's not a chip, it's a resistor you put inline in front of one of your temperature sensors to tell the engine it's running cooler and getting cooler air than it really is so the computer will advance the timing slightly and run even hotter. Does it sound like a good idea to make the engine run hotter just to get 1 or 2 hp?

Re: is this fake

Exactly, if you are wanting cheap power, you're not going to find it. There are relatively inexpensive ways to get power, but not for 40 dollars. Just remember, you normally get what you pay for.

If you are wanting to start doing stuff to your car, I'd recommend looking at the thread on here talking about how to mod a V6 from the start. Those are recommendations from people who have been working on these for a while and have found the best way to get power in different stages.

I've never heard of that kind of chip but the seller has a 98.7% rating so something must be good.

Or the people buying it are too stupid to notice a change or not...

Re: is this fake

actually the point of it is a cheap way to adjust your fuel and timing.

the chip goes in place of your temperature sensor, which tells the ecu theres colder and more dense air coming in. thusly, it adds a bit of fuel and timing.

this will only help if you have alot of airflow mods, like intake, plenum/tb, etc, that increase the amount of air the motor can draw in. even though, most of those additions make power cause they lean out the mix, because cars naturally run rich from the factory, adding airflow helps lean it out and that makes power, throwing more fuel only brings you back to where you were before. adding timing is a plus, but to make power naturally aspirated you want to try to run as much timing and as lean as possible, this does not allow you to lean things out.

though a real dynotune (or hell, a mail order) tune could probably unlock a true 20whp gain time and time again.
