Free 05 V6 Mod test

O. K so I did the mod a couple days ago,
A Hot Body I did not cut any hoses, just disconnected them and bought high temp hose to do the bypass.
Results: I have not run it at the track yet, but what a difference. Before the mod, as my car would warm up I would get throttle lag and if I punched it I would get an instant single knock and a little ping in the upper RPM,s I have the Diablo tune with 4 degree's of global timing advance and even on 91 octane she was pinging above 4500 rpm the CAI (MMR) was hot as hell and of course you couldn't touch the throttle body.

So after 150 mixed miles in 80 degree Vegas temps, no ping or knock, instant throttle response and the throttle body and CAI are actually just warm to the touch even after sitting in traffic. Now while there is no HP gain to this mod I am sure the previous heat buildup was costing me about 10 HP I am now going to start running the Higher Performance Tune and report back.

It sounds like a good idea to do it though. Pretty bad design if you ask me.

What can you F up? simple bypass hose and 2 clamps. Easiest mod I have ever done and it actually works. Now I really do have a cold air intake. Ford should do a recall of the 05 V6's and do this, the car runs great now.
