Got it started today

I got her started up today would barely idle and sometimes cut off. I threw one code (P0232 ful PMP RLY DUR FL OF). I think im just going to have it towed Wednesday to the shop thats gonna dyno it. its running to ruff to drive it sounds like its got a huge cam in it thats how bad the idle is.

Re: Got it started today

Sounds like too much carbon buildup and air in the lines and a bad fuel pump. Good luck. I hope you get it running right so you can drive it to the meet in the summer.

Brand new spark plugs and brand new fuel pump I think its the tune. I just bought an x-cal2 and they gave me a base tune for my 42#'s and SCT MAF no timing adjustments or A/F adjustments.

Re: Got it started today

Update cannot figure this ***** out its pissing me the **** off:suicide:

Ok done with my rant. So it is still missing, new plugs, new wires, no vacum leaks changed out rockers and still no difference...WTF

I am going to to a compression test this week to see if I have a valve or ring problem. I think its the number 5 cylinder cause all of the spark plugs look great except that one it is totaly black when I take it out after a couple min of running. Anybody got any suggestions? I am getting spark when I pull the wires off of the coilpack while it is running so it not that.

It could be a bad/leaky injector.

Re: Got it started today

I'd swap the #5 injector and the one next to it. See if the spark plug still gets black on it. If the plug is real black, you might want to hit it with a sandblaster or replace it, too. Just because it's new, doesn't mean it's good.

Re: Got it started today

you should have done a cylinder power test to confirm which cylinders where giving you problems...

can't remember but there is a term for this test.., anyways what you do is when the engine is running you pull off the plug for one cylinder at a time, and you record the difference in change of idle speed, the one that has the least drastic change is the weak cylinder, and there inlies where the problem is to look. if there is no real difference in change between any of the cylinders then the problems are either global wide mechanical or tune based.

oh, btw did you check for correct pushrod length and rocker geometry?

Re: Got it started today

Yes I did a compression check the number five cylinder would jump from 20# to 60# to 100# to 150# I think I have a valve sticking, thats why I am taking the heads off and getting them done and going to go ahead and slap a cam in while there off

Re: Got it started today

Alright just got back from dyno. numbers are alright. We kept it very very safe only 15deg of timing ony reved to 5000rpm and these numbers are without the 1.8 rockers or the throttle body so basically bone stock minus the little bit of prt work i did on the intakes. He said we could have pushed it and prolly got another 20-25hp out of it but I building my forged 4.2 now so I dont want to blow it up right yet. But look at the damn torque this little thing put out almost 370ft/lbs

Oh yea and thats at 10psi and an A/F of about 10.8
