k&n filter

So...I'm cleaning my k&n ait filter to put back into my car. I cleaned it alll up and now I just gotta re-oil it. the aerosol can of oil it comes with is fairly small and a buddy said I pretty much use the entire thing on the filter...is this too much oil? Can you over oil these filters or would overdoing it be fine

Re: k&n filter

I don't think you want to get that oil in your intake, but even if you over oiled it, I don't see how that would be possible. I think your alright.

Re: k&n filter

Just be sure to let it sit and dry out before you run the car. If the oil gets all over your mass air sensor, it can cause some issues.

Re: k&n filter

i've done it a few times on mine and still have a good bit left in the can. Just do it like it says, wherever there is kind of a white spot. I apply it fairly liberally but did not use nearly the whole thing in one oiling.
