I need some help, I am not sure what is wrong. Latelly when I am driving on the interstate at the speed of around 65. When I press the gas ( I drive an automatic) I start hearing a clicking noise. When I let go of the gas the clicking noise goes away. Or if I press it a little harder the noise will go away, but I am not sure why the clicking noise is even there....(2.)I also am starting to hear noises on the drivers side..I dont know if it is the door panel or what..has this happened to anyone before..help guys..thanks
No exhaust...nothin its just when I get to about 65 mph there is a clicking noise, and if I press the gas harder the noise goes away...or if I let go off the gas the noise goes away.....On the drivers side, its almost as if there is something wrong with sound system..I hear Wind, or something..like hard wind!!!
If the car is still under warranty I'd recommend carrying it by ford first and letting them mess with it before doing anything yourself, don't want to risk voiding the warranty.
If the clicking noise is coming from the engine, try running a different brand gasoline or a higher octane and see if that fixes it, it might be pinging from a poor quality gas.
My thoughts exactly. This is of course without actually being there to listen to it. I'm almost 100% positive it can't be a blown head gasket or a exhaust leak because it would never go away. So your problem can't be too serious.
I've got the same problem with my 2005 V6. I usually get it from the AC when i'm running about the same speeds, I usually just crack the windows and turn it off.. but I haven't figured out why it's clicking either.
For a quicker fix, try octane booster, I have never had anything like that with any of my mustangs though, get a can of octane booster, if that stops it, then you need to use higher octane gas.
Oh man! I run the cheapest regular unleaded I can find, with no pinging at all. I would say the problem must be somewhere else, if under warranty, have your dealer look at it, if not take it to a good independent garage for a check up. Hope its nothing too serious.
alright yeah I need to break down and go to the Ford place and see what the clicking is. I just never have time to do it. always working. maybe it's just something simple in the ac unit.
Hey will, get with me sometime and I'll ride with you and we'll see if we can pinpoint the problem. Not very free during the daytime, but just give me a call and we'll work something out.
Aight man I'll give you a hollar one night I've also got a noise after I hit about 70 and lay into it a little more... I dunno if it has anything to do with that dang pit bull I hit one night.. but who knows.. I'm going to fix everything as soon as I sell the 1968 Mustang Coupe
