pull off the belt and run the car, also hand spin the pullies, you can feel if one is bad

Re: squeel/squeek

Hmmm....could be off here but I've heard many of power steering pumps do some squeeling like that. Not sure though, did you replace the belt yourself? If you had your mechanic do it, I would suggest taking it to him with the issues. Just my two cents, good luck.

Re: squeel/squeek

did the belt myself twice now getting good at that going to take the belt off again and turn the pullies this moring. I have had bad power steering pumps on other cars, it does not sound like its comming from there but will add it to my list of things to check
thanks

Re: squeel/squeek

Belts squeel cuz they're loose... check the condition of your pulleys (rust, pitting, wear, damage, etc), Replace anything that looks worn out in any way... if they look good, replace the auto tensioner assembly... sounds to me like the spring on the auto tensioner might be a little weak ... Also... I agree with Tape .. spin everything by hand .. you can definitely feel a bad pulley bearing ..
