Convertable blacktop

I have a 2000 Blacktop convertable and the top is starting to fade. Are there any products out there that can restore it? Also it makes a wierd sound when its not warmed up, kinda like a straining sound when I turn the wheel.. but the power steering fluid is filled! One last thing.. I also need a tune up.. what kinda of replacement plugs and wires should I get? any other suggestions?! thanks!

Re: Convertable blacktop

for the convertible top a product called RaggTop is very good. They make products for cloth and non cloth tops so buy the right one. It is rather expensive but a little bit goes a long way with them. It may be to far gone but this could help.

For the power steering all mustangs make the noise just dont turn the wheel to a full lock. If it does it while not at a full lock while the car is still cold it might be signs its on its way out.

For the plugs just put in OEM ford replacment plugs (buy from ford) and gap them correctly. The KEY is doing them one at a time so you dont confuse the plug wires and make SURE you dont corss thread the spark plugs. You should also use antiseeze (very cheap at an auto parts store) on them when putting them in. Start them slowly and do not force them in or cross thread them when screwing them in. I start mine by hand and slowly turn them with a ratchet. Once down a simply snug them, do NOT put to much tq on them.
