need new tires

its time for new tires, i have sumitomo's. i do not like them, wore basically all the way down in barely over a year. plus this past week i decided to burn them out for fun(knowing im getting new tires ofc) but what do you guys recommend for daily driving?

also with these tires, ive had nails taken out 3 times(currently a nail in my back right as of yesterday or today), does that have anything to do with the tires? i just think im getting unlucky

Re: need new tires

nails are just luck. as far as brand, you generally get what you pay for. If you want a tire to last you can look at the tread life rating but.... every brand is different as there is no standard its a deviation based on the companies own test.. basically its BS.

Re: need new tires

if you want tires that ride good, have good traction, and last. get nitto nt555. if you just want a long lasting tire that's cheap get sumotimo.

Re: need new tires

I really like Pirelli tires, which is on my car and if you care I will be replacing my Pirelli tires with another set of Pirelli tires.

Go to Tire Rack and they show you all sorts of good stuff. They have a rating on all the different tires in different conditions like snow, rain, dry pavement, and **** like that. To show you what each tire is better suited for what condition(s).

Re: need new tires

Yah Nittos and Pirellis are decent tires...so are BFG's. It all depends on what you want to spend. Sumitimos aren't a bad tire for the price...you sure as hell can't find any other 315/35-17 sized tire for $100. I've had mine for almost 4 years and I still have more than 50% of the tread left. (I don't use those rims/tires all year though).

As said, do some research, find out which tires you like the most and go with those.

I have a set of bridgestone potenza RE760s...

I love them, very grippy, and when they do start to slip you have plenty of warning. Also very quiet..

i second this. another good brand that last is the brigestone potenza re050's but they don't do so well in the rain but they are run-flats.

Re: need new tires

opinions on tires are like ********, everybody's got one...

IMHO, I prefer Toyo Tires...I run Toyo T1R proxes for my street tires...

Live and learn is all I have to say. I had BFG's on my old car loved em. Have Pirellis on the Stang not a huge fan of em.
