Final mod, split decision

Hey guys it has been a while. I am thinking about doing one last mod before I leave for college and garage the Stang

Should I do the Mach1 grill delete or the clutch adjuster kit?

Hmm, the grill delete is sweet, but my awful stock clutch does bother me.

Anyone have a good word for the clutch adjuster?

I had the bullit one on mine first, then powdercoated it black but I still had to get a grill delete. I like the pony.

Re: Final mod, split decision

I appreciate the opinions, could I get some explanations as to why everyone is saying the grill delete rather than the clutch kit? All the reviews on AM say the kit is amazing, but no one here seems to have much to say about it...

Re: Final mod, split decision

Well I can't say anything about it personally as I have an auto, but I've heard good things about the clutch kit. Much better than the stock quadrant.

I'm sure everyone is suggesting the grille delete because it really does change the front of the car, for the better of course

I think it would look *****in with your color car and the stripes.

It's up to you...either one is a good choice imo.

Re: Final mod, split decision

Sonic, it still shocks me that you have an auto.

I know it would look amazing... but looks or feel of driving.... its so hard to decide. Especially since I will only be able to enjoy it for a month then have to store it.

Yah it still shocks me sometimes, lol. A manual is mandatory in the next mustang.

Yah it's definitely a tough decision...I did mostly cosmetic changes since the car was a dd for a few years. I didn't want to get too crazy with engine/drivetrain mods when I needed the car for school/work (and was still paying on it )

It really does come down to appearance vs performance...hopefully someone who has the clutch kit will chime in.

Neither...Take it from someone who has been there, and save your money for now...you'll be a poor college kid shortly without a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of...you'll be begging for cash midway through your 1st semester, so save the couple hundred bucks you'd have spent for now...besides, it's not like you'll be able to drive the car anytime soon to even enjoy the work on it...Just my $.02.

Well I would agree but he might have money saved, or he might have a job lined up while in college...so he might not be as strapped for cash as you think...I had a job while in college too...helped pay for trips out to eat and the occasional mustang part here and there

I also saved a ton of money the summer before, that helps a lot.

Re: Final mod, split decision

I don't have the clutch kit, but if it's like most upgrades out there people will swear it's the best must have part ever. Once installed you may not even notice the difference. I've experienced this time and time again. Aluminum driveshaft & flywheel, ignition coils etc. the list can go on and on so just be careful. That's why I vote grill you'll notice the difference every time you see the car.

That is a good point. But currently my clutch pedal sits higher than my clutch, and only engages within the first three inches. I hate it.

What about lowering springs? You get the performance gains & improved appearance...
