GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

This is going to sound really silly but Im going to ask it any way. The next few mods Im going to do is...........

New tires
New rotors (for some reason mine are warped?)
FRPP Dual Exhaust

But my question is can 05-09 GT Calipers and Rotors do a "Plug N Play" swap on my V6? I found the set on newtakeoff.com for a solid price and just would like to now if I can bolt them right up?

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

The caliper mounting brackets will have to be changed because the rotors are slightly larger iirc. You should be able to get them from Ford. Also, the stock 16" wheels won't work...you have to have 17" wheels or larger for the rotors/brakes to clear.

The calipers are identical, so no issues there. I've heard some people say how the lines needed to be changed, and some didn't have to do any changes...so a grey area there.

I would consider painting the calipers before putting them on the car...definitely look a ton better painted.

I got 17"s, the pony package opted out the 16"s for GT sized 17"s.

No the splash shields are the same on both cars...but the brackets are different...probably need to be to set on the larger rotor.

You could see if you can find a set off a wrecked GT or check with Ford...last I heard they were ~$44 each back in 09.

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

I've done the swap on the 05+ cars. All you need is the GT caliper brackets and rotors. The calipers are the same. And you have the 17" wheels, so your set there.

I was talking about the 05+ stangs...I think the 99-04 v6's and GT's had the same size rotors and calipers front and back, but don't quote me on that.

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

Our price is $170. Although I can get Ford Racing products, they are not one of our primary vendors, so I don't have their products on our website.

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

Now does that 170 include shipping (60148 is the Zip) or is that without shipping? If that 170 is with out shipping what is it with shipping?

I am willing to support anyone who supports this site even if that means spending an extra penny or two.

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

Sorry for the delay in responding. We've been racing this weekend and I bought myself a new 'project' today.

The $170 would include shipping.

thanks,
john

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

The track time was more of a test-n-tune. We have a '93 cobra with an aluminium 427 that we were working out the bugs. The new project is a '69 fastback. I'll be posting some pics when I get a chance.

For the parts, we work with Paypal. You can paypal the payment to parts@nqsperformance.com and put in the notes it is for the V6 GT brake upgrade #M2300D. I don't have that kit in-stock right now, but I did place an order for one on Friday with some other stuff, so should get it in this week.

OK, I don't have a paypal so is there a way around that? Could I use a personal check/cash or credit/debit card, or is paypal all your excepting?

We can accept personal checks/money orders/cash, although I don't really recommend sending cash via the mail. At this time, we are not setup for CC.

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

By the way my name is Kyle. If its fine with you I will send a check. Now do you want me to write a little note or something with the check like, for the FRPP V6 GT brake upgrade #M2300D along with address, mailing info, and phone number?

I would really like to send you a check out this week. Maybe as soon as tomorrow afternoon around 3ish, is my plan.

Now I now this is going to sound weird but Im a little weird like this. Does the kit come in a Ford Racing packaged box? Just wondering because I like little **** like that. I know I know its weird but I just have to ask.

Re: GT Front Brake Calipers and Rotors

yes, that is a good idea. If you would add that information along with the check, that would be great. I'll also confirm receipt of the check with you when we get it.

I'm not sure if the box will have Ford Racing on it or not. The last time we installed these a kit was not available, so we pieced it together from regular Ford part#.
