Thats kind of where Im going, the seal is about 15 bucks give or take, you will need a new pinion nut also, does not look that hard. Also need a puller. I think the hardest part would be torquing the new nut to 125 ft pounds (I think) without the assembly turning.
yeah mine was leaking at the shaft too, i replaced the rear pinion seal, but i can still smell burning gear oil (splashed onto mufflers).. idk if its left over from when it was leaking or if it didnt fix it hard to tell
