Dual Exhaust ?

Ok there is ad on craigslist, someone is selling their gt stock exhaust, I'm sure there is one, but what is the difference between the stock exhaust, and say an exhaust from pypes performance. This question is excluding the mufflers as I would upgrade those, and this is directed towards S197's.

Re: Dual Exhaust ?

If you have a v6, you will not be able to directly bolt a GT catback onto it, as your v6 is set up in a y pipe fashion, to run back to a single pipe...

I've been wrong before but I don't think it'd work exactly as planned

Re: Dual Exhaust ?

If I had the money I would go with that setup, but I don't at the time so I want to get some type of dual exhaust on there.

Re: Dual Exhaust ?

I don't believe the parts from an '03 would fit an S197.

Re: Dual Exhaust ?

Ok what about a pypes off-road h-pipe, would that be a decent pipe to get, I don't live in an area with emissions.

Re: Dual Exhaust ?

IT ALL COMES DOWN TO YOUR OWN PERSONAL OPINION. OFF ROAD IS LOUD, AND AS LONG AS UR STATE DOESNT REQUIRE EMISSIONS U R GOOD!

DO SOME RESEARCH, WATCH VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE - GET AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU LIKE!

HERE IS MY SET UP: I HAVE A CATTED X PIPE (EMISSION REQUIREMENT) AND 3 INCH CHROME TIPS - GOT THE PYPES SYSTEM... SOUNDS GREAT FOR A V6 AND ITS NOT INCREDIBLY LOUD.

Re: Dual Exhaust ?

H pipe will give u that DEEP Throaty tone, flowmasters alone want cut it, flowmaster with an H pipe and you will love it man! i promise! off road means no cats which equals better sound IMO, some people like a more quiter exhaust. As long as its not loud raspy noise and i dont mind it being loud...loud is not always better...its tone! whatch the videos of a H pipe with flowmaster on v6 then go watch one of magnaflows on a v6...magnaflows sound like a honda on a 6 cylinder!

Re: Dual Exhaust ?

I like the flows as well !! They sound great after about 500 miles. If you have a V6 just run true duals the 3.8 is a even fire motor so a cross over isn't needed it just user preferance
