2000 v6 misfire

My service engine light cam on and i had it checked. It said misfire cyl 6. So i had the plugs and wires changed. Then the light came back on and said misfire cyl 1. I had the coil pack, and fuel filter changed. Even had the plugs checked again, and they are good. The miss is only between 1000-1500 rpms. Do yall have any ideas of what it could be?

The car only has 104k miles.

Re: 2000 v6 misfire

They arent loose, i had them checked. If they were out of sequence wouldnt the car run bad all the time instead of only between 1000-1500 rpms?

Re: 2000 v6 misfire

are you driving it while it misfires? the guess was because i had a firebird that did the samething in the same RPM range, i stuck my hand down there and the plug was loose, i pushed it in and problem stopped! bro i wish i was there to see it for myself, u changed coil pack and everything else so idk, unless the problem is deeper.......have we checked the Fuel injectors?

Re: 2000 v6 misfire

Im driving it when it has the misfire. My husband cant even figure it out becuz we done changed everything, he even checked the injectors. We just wanted some more opinions on it. Anyways we are getting an compression test done tomorrow so maybe that will help us figure something out hopefully.

Re: 2000 v6 misfire

Unplug the MAF and see how it drives. It might not idle but drive it and see what happends. There is also a crankshaft sensor on there cars that tells the car when to fire. Compression should not be a factor with your issue. If you had low compression then you would be getting blow by and would have oil smoke coming out of you exhaust pipe.

I will try unplugging the MAF and see what it does.

Re: 2000 v6 misfire

What wires are you using? If they are do not have a EMI (Electro Magnetic Interfience) sheilding they will mess with the cam sensor making it miss.
