getting rid of my side exhaust set up

Well after damn near 3yrs of having side exit exhaust. i am thinking about going to a tradtional style. As much as I love the look of this set up. I have had nothing much problems. I havent been able to lower the car because of how low the muffler sit. then the mufflers i got were not giving me the sound i wanted. Iswitch to no mufflers wich gave me issues with the local PD about car DB levels. got glass packs and those just produce a nasty rasp.

Latleyty I have had my driver side roush side skirt stolen and i ran over a piece of tire tread from a semi and bent the passenger side exit pipe back. i went to the muffler shop to get it bent back and they discovered a small hole in the driver side glass pack from scrapping. had to get that replaced too.

Just sick and tired of replacing parts for this set up. so i think i am done with the side exit exhaust. I am thinking about getting a pair of Super 44's . any opinion about mufflers let me know thanks

Re: getting rid of my side exhaust set up

I've never found any that really sound good on a sixer all around, but I agree with your decision to ditch the side exit. It looks good, but like you said, it will cause a lot of headaches down the road.

Mac O/R H-Pipe, Flowmasters,2.5 tips is the best set up for sound IMO
Heres some clips of some v6s with the set up, decide for yourself!

I have an X-pipe already and I live in California. I have to have cats. I get an emissions test every 2 years. but thanks for the video clips. found a V6 that was running Flowmaster Super 44's it sound pretty nice.

I will also look into getting super 40's as well.

They look sweet as hell but I do love my car lowered too. I already have to be careful with traditional pipes. I've knocked a hangar off a couple times that I had to get fixed.

Re: getting rid of my side exhaust set up

My brother isn't too happy about me replacing the side exhuast. But it just to much of hassel and after going the muffler shop to have more stuff fixed having to replace that side skirt. I'm like forget it. I'm getting flows or some cheep knock offs and I am calling it a day.
