New Mufflers

Just order me a pair of Flow Master Super 44's for my Mustang. I should get them in about a week or two.

Bye Bye glass packs and side exit exhaust.

awesome. they should sound a lot better than glass packs, imo the glass packs sound like **** on a v6.

most anything sounds like **** on a v6 above 2k rpms... but a full mufflers is the way to go on them.

Awesome! Sucks that you have to get rid of the side exhaust, but it's for the best sound wise... and now you can lower!!

Re: New Mufflers

the glass packs were not that bad. Even above 2.5k. I also I only got them cuz running no mufflers was getting me pulled over. But I've heard way to many V6ers with full mufflers and they sound deeper and better then what I had. Now I have to get some side skirts cuz I threw away my stock ones. Then I will be able to lower the car.

Re: New Mufflers

Honestly I have MAC shorty, MAC, off-road H, and flowmaster original 40 series mufflers. I have had this combination since June of 2003 and they sound the same to date. Great low rumble up to 3500 and, yes, then some raspiness, but nothing I can't take. Overall good choice friend. I think you'll like them much better than glasspacks.

With the internet its all about the context in which you dispaly your comments. BTW what kind of chin spoiler is that? Looks like it got supersized?

Re: New Mufflers

yes it is a sad fact, most v6s sound like a mix of a ricer and a muscle car after 2500, im lucky mind only sounds bad after 3000 lol
but then again i went a custom route lol

Re: New Mufflers

Yes the super 44's will sound a lot better, the baffles really increase rumble at low RPMS. I honestly don't think it sounds like a wailing bat until the 3500 range, but then again it would suck if you were a GT and trailing this sound due to the V6 having some serious mods (supercharger/turbo,etc etc), but then again I think thats one of the reasons why I have the delema of swapping for a 4.6 in mine. A kill is a kill, but a kill that wasen't expected to happen is much more rewarding for the underdog.

Re: New Mufflers

I just recently got some Flowmaster Super 40's put on mine. I think it really has a nice even steady growl to it, way better than stock! It's not so loud that you can't hear yourself think, but has the perfect sound level to alert others around you that you're on your way!
I think you'll like your 44's!

i did lots of video search for flowmasters on V6 mustangs and the super 44's sounded the best. so I found me a pair on ebay for 130 shipped. just waiting for them to get here so i can ditch the side exhaust system

You can keep it from being raspy past 2k with the right exhaust setup. As far as sounding like s*** anything can sound good if your not one of those close minded "only a v8" can sound good types.

So you ran completely no pipe? straight header? How did that sound cuase I'm still unsure what to do with my V6. I want a deeper louder sound, but don't want a ricer sound. And want to do it cheap too.

Re: New Mufflers

One thing I will tell you on any V6 is to leave the cats on there. I had an o/r X pipe and straight through mufflers and it was downright awful.

I beg to differ, however I have never had an X-pipe, but have had an H-pipe, headers, and originial 40's for 7 years. When I get a decent camera I'll post some vids.
