while changing the oil this week end i noticed coolent leaking under the motor and found it was the freeze plug, how hard is it to replace a freeze plug i have the 3.8 and the plug thats leaking is the front drivers side.it's not much of a leak but the plug looks corroded on one side and wet , should i stop driving the car until i fix it ? i thank everyone who takes the time to advice me on how to fix my ride.

Re: freeze plug leaking

As long as it doesnt start pouring out you should be fine. Check the radiator to make sure theres enough antifreeze in it and just buy a new plug. Easy fix.

Re: freeze plug leaking

not hard to change. first use a screwdriver and a hammer to punch the screwdriver through the old plug and then pry it out. Use a piece of sandpaper to clean the sealing surface of the block then smear RTV silcone around the edge of the new plug and use a socket or something close to the same size as the plug to tape it into place with a hammer.
